How We Label Titles
Representation Labels
Deaf-led: A named Deaf director, writer or producer is credited; the listing states the role.
Includes Deaf performers: Deaf or hard-of-hearing cast members are featured. Cast participation alone does not establish creative leadership.
Deaf and hard-of-hearing participants: Participants in unscripted programs.
Deaf characters: Describes the story separately from the actor’s identity. A hearing actor playing a Deaf character is not Deaf performer participation. State when identity is unconfirmed.
A title may carry multiple labels. Viewing links open third-party services. Availability, fees and captions vary by region and may change.
